About The Position

As a Software Engineer III in JPMorganChase’s Risk Frameworks division, you will be a seasoned member of an agile team, designing and delivering trusted technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable manner. You will carry out critical technology solutions across technical areas and business functions in support of the firm’s objectives. The role spans full-stack software engineering, including Java and Spring Boot backend services and APIs, and React and TypeScript web interfaces. It also includes using enterprise-authorized AI development tools responsibly, supporting application quality and stability, and contributing to engineering communities of practice.

Requirements

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 3 years of applied experience.
• Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Extensive experience designing, developing, and delivering enterprise-scale applications, with full-stack expertise across front-end and back-end technologies.
• Experience working with design systems or component libraries and applying consistent UI standards at scale.
• Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment using one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages.
• Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools, with the ability to critically evaluate, validate, and refine generated outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
• Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and resiliency and security expectations; ability to guide peers on safe and effective usage.
• Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Solid understanding of agile methodologies and practices such as CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.

Responsibilities

• Execute software design, development, and technical troubleshooting, using sound judgment to develop solutions and break down technical problems.
• Create secure, high-quality production code and maintain algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems.
• Use enterprise-authorized AI coding assistance to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity; validate outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards, and share reusable patterns and learnings.
• Use Software Development Life Cycle tools, including authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value of automation.
• Design and implement backend services and APIs using Java and Spring Boot, integrating with data stores and downstream systems.
• Develop modern web UIs using React and TypeScript, applying reusable components and design-system patterns.
• Ensure UI implementations follow accessibility best practices, including keyboard navigation, semantic markup, and assistive technology support.
• Analyze and synthesize large, diverse data sets and develop visualizations and reporting to continuously improve software applications and systems.
• Identify hidden problems and data patterns proactively and use insights to improve coding hygiene and system architecture.
• Contribute to software engineering communities of practice and events exploring emerging technologies.
