The Software Engineer III will participate in the discovery phase of projects, creating high-level designs in partnership with product management, project management, business, and user experience teams. This role involves troubleshooting business and production issues through root cause analysis, engaging support teams, developing solutions, and creating action plans. The engineer will manage complex projects, translating requirements into technical solutions, researching alternatives, and ensuring value to the business. Responsibilities include writing and developing code, conducting unit testing, communicating status, collaborating with teams, and ensuring on-time delivery. The role also provides support to the business by responding to user inquiries, researching solutions, and guiding users on system implications. Additionally, the engineer will prepare requirement traceability matrices, contribute to user stories, and create minimalistic code that meets business and technical requirements, including non-functional aspects like maintainability, availability, and scalability. They will assist in selecting appropriate coding languages, standards, and tools, and take initiative to learn new technologies. Scripting for automation in CI/CD and testing processes, implementing telemetry features, and ensuring security policy adherence are also key duties. In testing, the engineer will map customer requirements to test objectives, create and execute test cases, and perform various types of testing. Defect management includes tracking, analyzing, and performing regression testing, as well as analyzing past defects to prevent recurrence. Troubleshooting performance and availability bottlenecks, conducting complex maintenance procedures, monitoring application performance, analyzing logs and performance data, and evaluating change requests are also part of the role. A DevOps orientation is expected, including maintenance and re-engineering activities.
