About The Position

In Walmart Global Tech, our Enterprise Business Services (EBS) organization is invested in building a compact, robust organization that includes service operations and technology solutions for Finance, People, and Associate Digital Experience. Our mission within EBS is to enable Walmart's Global Enterprise to spend smartly, act digitally and build trust with associates and shareholders. This role involves modernizing and supporting the Finance Data Factory, transforming disparate applications with disjointed designs and architectures into a cohesive, modern Platform. It utilizes both Data Engineering and Software Engineering tech stacks to move from point solutions to scalable, comprehensive platforms. The engineer will work with key engineering teams to define architectural patterns, set data quality standards, and drive automation, with a focus on customer delivery. The role includes designing, building, testing, deploying, maintaining, and improving large-scale software solutions following agile development processes. The engineer will interact closely for requirements with product owners, business and technical teams, and facilitate alignment and clarity across teams on goals, outcomes, and timelines. Continuous learning of new and changing technologies is expected to ensure best software practices and standards.

Requirements

Experience in Java, Python, and Application Architecture
SQL and no-SQL Databases such as Big Query, Cosmos, Cassandra, and Postgres
Experience with DevOps practices, particularly CI/CD, to support effective development and deployment processes.
Experience with Kafka or other high volume, low latency messaging infrastructure
Deep experience with public cloud platforms and cloud native services
Knowledge on big data technologies, such as, Hadoop, Hive or Spark.
True passion for technology, love to continuously learn and strive for excellence.
Great analytical skills with a good problem-solving attitude with strong technical writing, verbal communication, and presentation skills.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 2 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
OR 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
