About The Position

The Software Engineer III role involves delivering technically complex solutions and providing system integration support for all project work. The engineer will consult and partner with business product owners to understand end goals, offer solutions, and make recommendations during the design phase. Responsibilities include developing customized coding, software integration, performing analysis, and configuring solutions using project-specific tools. The role also entails leading and participating in the development, testing, implementation, maintenance, and support of highly complex solutions in adherence to company standards, including robust unit testing and support for subsequent release testing. Additionally, the engineer will build non-functional monitoring capabilities, provide escalated support for complex applications in production, and build in and maintain security controls and monitoring. This position typically leads moderately complex projects and participates in larger, more complex initiatives, solving complex technical and operational problems and acting as a resource for less experienced teammates. The role may also oversee the work of a small team. In an Agile environment, the engineer is responsible for delivering high-quality working software, automating manual/reusable tasks, and engaging with the business from the design phase. This includes leveraging continuous engineering practices, refining user stories, developing and maintaining automated unit testing, supporting integration and functional testing, providing automated monitoring capabilities, warranty support, and knowledge transfer to production support, and developing code in accordance with acceptance criteria.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related technical field
  • 6 years of progressive experience in software engineering or IT consulting positions
  • Applying in-depth knowledge in information systems and understanding of key business processes and competitive strategies related to the IT function to identify, apply, and implement IT best practices.
  • Applying broad functional knowledge in requirement gathering, analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and deployment of applications.
  • Planning and managing projects and solving complex problems by applying best practice
  • Providing direction and mentoring less experienced teammates.
  • Utilizing experience with: System Architect, ASP .Net, MVC, HTML/CSS, ALM, Rally, Git, SQL, DB2, API and Microservices, Postman/SoapUI, Azure, CI/CD, SAP BO, and Splunk.

  • Leverage continuous engineering practices to deliver business value regarding effectiveness of the design.
  • Actively participate in refining user stories.
  • Responsible for design, developing, and maintaining automated unit testing, and supporting integration and functional testing.
  • Responsible for providing automated monitoring capabilities, providing warranty support, and providing knowledge transfer to production support.
  • Develop code in accordance with the acceptance criteria established by the Product Owner.
