Job Description: We are seeking a Software Systems Engineer to join our team in designing, developing, troubleshooting, and enhancing software for networking products in Campus & Branch Business Unit. This role focuses on networking systems software development and collaborative problem-solving and is ideal for candidates with strong C/C++ programming skills and experience working on software systems and networking applications. The candidate will work on developing new platforms and solutions collaborating with product management and architects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • 2–4 years of experience in software engineering.
  • Proficiency in C, C++ programming and software systems design tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of software systems testing methodologies, including test plan execution, and debugging.
  • Experience in designing software systems for with different forward ASICs
  • Working knowledge of L2, L3 networking protocols
  • Willingness to explore & contribute to various software components to build next generation networking solutions

  • Embedded Operating Systems & low-level Software Development
  • Forwarding ASIC programming for L2/L3/L4 Networking Protocols
  • Strong networking fundamentals

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement software enhancements, updates, and programming changes for subsystems such as operating systems, networking protocols in Junos & Junos Evolved software.
  • Analyze design requirements and carry out coding, testing, and integration activities per project guidelines.
  • Develop and execute portions of testing plans and documentation; identify and debug code issues and recommend improvements.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to deliver high-quality, reliable, and cost-effective software solutions.
  • Design, develop and maintain software for forwarding ASICs
  • Communicate progress, design status, and technical issues with project stakeholders.
