About The Position

As a Software Engineer II, you will design and implement features across the full application stack, contributing to both modern, responsive user interfaces and robust, scalable server-side systems built on Microsoft.NET. AI development tools are part of how this team builds: you define what a change needs to do, review what the tools produce, and own the result, whether you wrote the code or a tool did. You will collaborate closely with Product Owners, stakeholders, and fellow engineers to deliver end-to-end solutions—from translating business requirements into clean APIs and services, to building intuitive front-end experiences that bring those capabilities to life.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent professional experience is accepted.
  • Typically 2 to 5 years experience building and supporting web applications, or equivalent shipped work. Years convey experience, and are not a fixed requirement.
  • AI Development: Build and integrate AI-powered features across the full web stack using APIs, large language models, and agent frameworks, including agents and workflow automation.
  • Full-Stack Development: Read, review, and direct work in React, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, Tailwind, C#, and .NET, including both .NET Framework and modern .NET - including code they did not write.
  • API Development and Use: Design and consume REST APIs, including JSON payloads and error handling, while maintaining compatibility with existing clients.
  • Data and SQL: Read/design relational data models and write accurate, efficient SQL for production-scale workloads. Understand and use transactions for related operations that must succeed or fail together.
  • Application Security: Understand common security risks, including injection, missing authorization checks, and unsafe user input. Know the difference between confirming a user’s identity and controlling what they can access or do.
  • Design implementation: Translate Figma designs and prototypes into clean, maintainable code, including inspecting layouts and exporting assets. When formal designs are incomplete or still changing, use the existing design system and functional requirements, and keep the UI consistent.
  • User experience: Understand user journeys and how the system behaves. Push for clean, accessible web solutions that meet WCAG, supported by well-designed backend services.
  • Source Control and CI/CD: Experience using Git-based workflows, including branching, pull requests, code reviews, and merging, with a working knowledge of automated build, test, and deployment pipelines.
  • Regularly required to sit; use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard; and talk or hear.
  • Required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Must be able to lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Understand what the business is asking for and why, turn it into something the team can build and test, and explain the tradeoffs in plain words to Product Owners and other non-technical people.
  • Partner with Product Owners and stakeholders to clarify requirements, define acceptance criteria, and surface edge cases before development begins.
  • Define what each change needs to do, including expected behavior, failure cases, and constraints, before directing AI tools to build it.
  • Choose the simplest design that meets the need, placing logic and data in the layer where they belong rather than adding layers by default.
  • Break features into small, well-scoped changes that can be built, reviewed, and tested independently.
  • Use AI development tools, including Cursor or Claude Code, to plan, generate, and refine code across the full application stack.
  • Select the right models, prompts, skills, and rules for each task, and improve team practices as the tools evolve.
  • Review and iterate on AI-generated output until it meets requirements, coding standards, and security expectations.
  • Own the result of every change, whether you wrote the code or a tool did.
  • Test failure paths as well as success paths, and provide evidence of results with each change.
  • Deploy fixes and features to a development environment to confirm they work beyond localhost.
  • Build in logging and error handling so problems are visible, diagnosable, and handled safely.
  • Submit changes for review by tools and other developers, and account for downstream effects on other areas of the system.
  • Complete assigned and committed work, raising interference or slippage early and working with management on a plan.
  • Own features from requirements through release and support, including issues that arise after you move on to new work.
  • Participate in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives as an active Agile team member.
  • Maintain clear technical documentation so other developers can understand, support, and extend your work.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
