About The Position

As a Software Engineer II at Walmart Global Tech, you'll play a pivotal role in designing and building robust backend systems that power seamless digital experiences for millions of customers. You will work across multiple domains, contributing to the development of scalable services that are critical to Walmart’s digital platforms. The Sam's Club team focuses on a membership warehouse club business model, providing high-quality products at competitive prices. This team develops and leads technologies such as Scan & Go, Club Pickup, and home delivery service, and supports various business operations like travel, auto purchasing, pharmacy, and optical services.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience in Java technologies, Distributed systems and large-scale application development and design.
  • Hands on experience Spring Boot, REST, Kafka, Cassandra.
  • Experience with a containerization technology and Microservices
  • Well versed in CI/CD and exposure to DevOps practices, and monitoring tools.
  • Strong adherence to SLDC process and Scrum/agile methodologies
  • Work with Java, Multithreading, Data Structures, Algorithm, Design Patterns and develop robust high-performance and scalable applications.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in creating inclusive digital experiences.
  • Knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards.
  • Experience with assistive technologies.
  • Experience integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.
  • Knowledge of accessibility best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs to support Walmart’s digital experiences.
  • Collaborate with product managers, frontend engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver impactful features and solutions.
  • Build scalable and reliable systems that handle large volumes of traffic and data.
  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code while following engineering best practices.
  • Debug and troubleshoot issues in distributed systems across environments.
  • Contribute to performance optimization, security improvements, and system resilience.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
