About The Position

This position is for a Software Engineer II at Raytheon, a leading aerospace and defense company. The role involves designing, developing, testing, delivering, and maintaining software for cutting-edge satellite ground systems. The engineer will work within an Agile environment alongside a team of engineers, architects, and leaders. The position offers opportunities to learn advanced software technologies such as multi-tiered architectures, AWS web services, microservice software design, modern DevSecOps, Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery techniques, software lifecycle practices for defense projects, and satellite ground system technologies. The role is based in Aurora, CO and requires U.S. citizenship due to security clearance requirements.

Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 2 years of prior relevant experience
Experience developing object-oriented software using Java.
Experience with Java multi-threading.
An active and transferable U.S. government issued TS/SCI security clearance is required prior to start date.
An active and transferable U.S. government issued Top Secret security clearance that can be crossed over to a TS/SCI security clearance is also acceptable.
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

Experience developing satellite planning and scheduling software.
Software development lifecycle experience using the SAFe Agile methodology.
Experience with microservices in an AWS environment using Docker and Kubernetes.
Experience with Test Automation, DevSecOps, and CI/CD processes.
Experience with tools such as Confluence, Eclipse, Jira, Jenkins, Junit, Kafka, and Spring Boot.
