The Software Engineer II position involves delivering technically complex solutions and providing system integration support for all project work. The role requires consulting and partnering with business product owners to understand end goals and offer solutions and recommendations during the design phase. Responsibilities include developing customized coding, software integration, performing analysis, and configuring solutions using project-specific tools. The engineer will lead and participate in the development, testing, implementation, maintenance, and support of highly complex solutions, adhering to company standards and performing robust unit testing. Building non-functional monitoring capabilities and providing escalated support for complex applications in production are also key duties. The role also involves building and maintaining security controls and monitoring in support of company standards. Typically, this position leads moderately complex projects and participates in larger, more complex initiatives, solving complex technical and operational problems and acting as a resource for less experienced teammates. The role may also oversee the work of a small team. In an Agile environment, the engineer is responsible for delivering high-quality working software, automating manual/reusable tasks, and engaging with the business from the design phase. Leveraging continuous engineering practices, refining user stories, developing and maintaining automated unit testing, and supporting integration and functional testing are expected. The role includes providing automated monitoring capabilities, warranty support, and knowledge transfer to production support, developing code in accordance with acceptance criteria.
