We’re looking for talented software development engineers to develop advanced technologies and applications that are revolutionizing payments. The Bill Pay suite of applications supports an electronic payment network that enables consumer bill payments for approximately 95 percent of electronic bill payment industry service providers in the U.S. region. Our new product, Bill Pay Exchange, will improve the consumer bill payment experience through simplified bill linking, additional payment options, and biller suggestions.

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong foundation in algorithms, data structures, and core computer science concepts.
  • Strong technical experience with Java, Java/J2EE, Linux, Oracle, and SQL programming.
  • Strong knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, Spring Batch, Hibernate, and REST API services.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux and shell scripting.
  • Experience with secure coding practices and building reliable, maintainable software.
  • Experience contributing to software design, code reviews, testing, troubleshooting, and operational support.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues systematically.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with EXTJS for UI development is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a hands-on developer who writes high-quality, secure, modular, functional, and testable code to support the Bill Pay Program.
  • Contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle, including design, development, documentation, testing, deployment support, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Participate in software design and architecture discussions, contributing to scalable, reliable, and performant solutions.
  • Develop and maintain unit, functional, and integration tests to validate software components and improve overall quality.
  • Support performance engineering efforts by helping analyze, tune, and optimize applications for reliability, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Participate in code reviews to help ensure code quality, maintainability, security, and adherence to engineering standards.
  • Take ownership of the team’s software, including maintenance characteristics, runtime properties, dependencies, hardware, operating system, build, and operational readiness.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve technical issues across development, testing, and production-like environments.
  • Communicate, collaborate, and work effectively in a global, cross-functional environment.
