About The Position

Azure Resource Graph (ARG), part of ARM/Azure Control plane, aims to reliably organize planet-scale cloud inventory and make it accessible to every Azure customer through scalable and performant tools. ARG serves as the inventory of cloud resources, dependencies, services, apps, and Azure metadata, powering core Azure experiences and workloads like the Azure Portal, Azure Marketplace, Search, and Catalog. It offers a unified view to query cloud resources using flexible standards with rich, scalable, and efficient constructs, utilized by both large customers and internal teams. ARG's vision is to empower any customer, regardless of size, to organize, govern, secure, manage, and explore their environments at scale. All designs, developments, and deliveries align with this vision. Currently, ARG returns over 6.5 billion cloud resources daily to customers and independent software vendors. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
  • 1+ years of experience developing, deploying, monitoring and shipping scalable cloud services.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
  • Must pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Nice To Haves

  • 3 years or more in deep hands-on working knowledge of building a true cloud-scale services.
  • 3+ year experience in one of the object-oriented programming languages like C#, Java, etc. with optional runtime internals knowledge.
  • 2+ years operational experience in running your service in one of the large-scale clouds like Azure, AWS, GCP.
  • 1+ years of experience in driving designs along with execution and accountability to deliver.

Responsibilities

  • Drive critical initiatives to help the platform scale to meet growing Azure needs.
  • Responsible for the technical design and execution of building underlying systems for high throughput query-ability or high throughput ingestion services with ambitious performance goals.
  • Develop deep business acumen about Azure.
  • Create clarity for the team and mentor members by establishing a sense of purpose.
  • Optionally mentor interns or early college hires.
  • Exercise the power of design patterns in choices and decisions with practical application knowledge.
  • Provide desire and drive for acquiring strong technical knowledge.
  • Maintain a data and results-driven culture while working closely with cross-functional teams.
  • Be a team player and contributor to an open, honest, and inclusive approach to problem-solving, accommodating diverse perspectives.
