About The Position

Nelnet Business Services (NBS), a division of Nelnet, Inc., provides payment technology and education services to more than 1,200 higher education institutions, nearly 12,000 K-12 schools, and millions of individual students, families, and supporters across the globe. We're launching a brand-new Scholarship Granting Organization (SGO) engineering team, building a platform from the ground up to help our partners collect donations, evaluate families for scholarship eligibility, and distribute funds. If you want to help build a new product from the ground up and grow your skills on a small, high-impact team, then this is that kind of role. As a Software Engineer II, you'll be a valuable member of our development team, working to transform customer needs into technical solutions. Our current stack is .NET and Angular, but we value engineering fundamentals and the ability to learn over specific tech experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of related experience.
  • Strong technical competency, with a logical, analytical, and creative approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to communicate clearly within team on complex issues.
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities.
  • Adapts well to change and focuses on continuous improvement.
  • Candidates must already be authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship.
