About The Position

Disney Entertainment & ESPN Technology is reimagining how to create magical viewing experiences for the world’s most beloved stories while also transforming Disney’s media business for the future. This involves evolving streaming and digital products, powering worldwide advertising and distribution, and delivering unmatched entertainment and sports content. The Product & Data Engineering team is responsible for end-to-end development for Disney’s world-class consumer-facing products, including streaming platforms like Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+, and digital products & experiences across ESPN, Marvel, Disney Studios, NatGeo, and ABC News. The team drives innovation at scale for millions of consumers globally across various platforms, powering core experiences like personalization, search, messaging, and data. DE&E Technologists are designing and building the infrastructure for Disney’s media, advertising, and distribution businesses. The products and platforms built and operated delight millions of consumers every minute of every day. The team develops and executes groundbreaking products and techniques that shape industry norms and enhance how audiences experience sports, entertainment & news.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of software engineering, machine learning or data science experience
  • Experience with big data tools including Databricks, Snowflake, or similar.
  • Service Reliability/Operational experience running large scale high-performance systems & Internet services
  • Ability to write and maintain reliable and understandable code in SQL, Python, Scala, or other languages.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent training or work experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with the end-to-end data lifecycle: from client-side event generation to backend processing and consumption by Data Science models.
  • Experience leveraging ML-driven automation to build internal tooling, streamline data pipelines, or enhance observability and monitoring capabilities.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks and platforms and a demonstrated ability to evaluate and integrate AI products into existing engineering workflows.
