About The Position

ITW Electronics Assembly Equipment (EAE) Division is seeking a Software Engineer II to join a successful, collaborative team. This role involves developing software operating and control systems for complex robotic equipment, software interfaces for IOT/Smart Factory requirements, and smartphone-like Apps based on ITW EAE’s patented Open Apps platform. The engineer will also help prepare software requirements specifications, assist in resolving hardware/software compatibility and interface design considerations, and aid with new product design specifications. Additionally, the role includes developing standard routines and utility programs, and providing support for software-related issues to factory floor, technical support, field service, and sales teams.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or other technical field
  • 2-4 years of related experience
  • Experience with ‘C++’ and C#
  • Experience with software projects using structured design techniques
  • Experience working as a member of a software project team
  • Experience using Object Oriented design methodologies
  • Basic knowledge of machine control software and Windows based GUI design
  • Familiarity with State Machine programming
  • Knowledge of Automated Testing
  • Basic knowledge of I/O systems. The different types of I/O and how they interact with software
  • Knowledge of closed loop systems and PID control
  • Good verbal and written communications skills
