About The Position

Valkyrie Enterprises has a need for a Software Engineer II/III in Virginia Beach, VA. This position is to provide Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division, Dam Neck Activity (NSWCDD DNA) supports the Program Executive Office Unmanned and Small Combatants (PEO USC) and Littoral Combat Ships (LCS) by providing Combat Systems engineering support.

Requirements

  • Must have a HS Diploma and at least 3 years of experience in one or more of the fields below: Combat System Engineering, Mission Readiness Assessments, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity Engineering
  • Must have experience working with Microsoft Office Suite (I.e., Project and Excel).
  • Must be able to support on-site tasking at Dam Neck Annex Base.
  • Must have an Active Secret Security clearance and base access requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • 3 plus years of experience with combat, Navy, and/or shipboard systems, preferred.
  • Experience working with AutoCAD and/or Inventor, preferred.
  • Experience with Navy Data Environment (NDE), Preferred.
  • BS Engineering degree from an ABET accredited school, preferred.
  • 7 years of experience can substitute in leu of a degree.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical and engineering support of tactical and operational interoperability during test and evaluation activities for the Atalanta Weapon System (AtWS) builds
  • Provide documentation for all network related installations and activations
  • Support development of technical artifacts, engineering documentation and network drawings.
  • Assist in the management and maintenance of lab facilities.
  • Support the planning and design efforts for the AtWS Advanced Test and Integration Lab (AATIL) infrastructure network
  • Support integration and test events
  • Monitor event logs and conduct audits on the infrastructure equipment.
  • Provide Engineering Support configuring Microsoft OS, Linux OS, ESXi and Cisco networking devices, troubleshooting and analyzing using packet analyzers or other applicable DoD approved troubleshooting tools and method as needed to complete assigned testing
  • Apply software releases build updates and security patches during maintenance windows.
  • Upgrade Microsoft, Linux and security software.
  • Conduct regression testing to ensure upgrades/patches have not corrupted the system.
  • Conduct Department of Defense (DoD) cybersecurity scans and compliance checks on the Combat Management System servers and network devices on a as needed basis.
  • Defense Information System Agency (DISA) ACAS scans.
  • DISA Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) compliance checks.
