About The Position

ProSync is seeking an experienced Java developer to join a small, mission‑focused engineering team responsible for building and sustaining operational software in secure environments. The ideal candidate brings strong Java development skills, experience with modern tooling such as Git, Gradle, Guice, Docker, and REST, and a willingness to support both backend and limited‑scope UI development. Experience with the ELK stack, MongoDB, Ansible, and Kubernetes is strongly desired. This role requires strong Linux proficiency and the ability to work in customer spaces or an offsite SCIF while supporting mission‑critical software delivery.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus fourteen (14) years of experience in software engineering (OR) An Associate's Degree, a High School Diploma or GED plus eighteen (18) years of general software engineering experience.
  • Extensive experience with Java development.
  • Familiarity with Git, Gradle, Guice/Dependency Injection, Docker, and REST.
  • Experience developing front-end UI solutions in Angular/Typescript.
  • Willingness to work limited-scope UI tasks.
  • Must have strong Linux skills.
  • An active Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with the ELK stack, MongoDB, Ansible, and Kubernetes.
  • Experience designing and implementing microservices architectures.
  • Experience deploying applications to Kubernetes platforms such as Rancher, Amazon EKS, OpenShift, or other CNCF-compliant Kubernetes distributions.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes concepts including Deployments, Services, ConfigMaps, Secrets, Ingress, Persistent Volumes, and Helm charts.
  • Experience designing or supporting applications that process large volumes of enterprise data.
  • Experience implementing and maintaining GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience utilizing Jira and Confluence in a software development environment.
  • Experience providing operational support for Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MariaDB databases.
  • Experience with automated testing, DevSecOps practices, and modern software delivery pipelines.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain mission‑focused Java applications using modern frameworks and tooling.
  • Utilize Guice for dependency injection and Gradle for build automation across the application lifecycle.
  • Build and maintain REST‑based services and integrations supporting mission workflows.
  • Develop and troubleshoot containerized application components using Docker.
  • Integrate and support ELK stack components for logging, monitoring, and operational visibility.
  • Work with MongoDB and other data stores to support backend functionality and mission data flows.
  • Support automation and configuration management tasks using Ansible.
  • Assist with Kubernetes‑based deployments and troubleshooting as part of modernization efforts.
  • Support limited‑scope front‑end development tasks using Angular and Typescript when needed.
  • Use strong Linux skills to support development, troubleshooting, and operational workflows.
  • Work in customer spaces or offsite SCIFs to support mission operations and software sustainment.
