About The Position

Morning Consult is hiring a DevOps Software Engineer to build and maintain the infrastructure, pipelines, and tooling that enable engineering teams to deliver AI-powered products quickly and safely. The role works closely with product and data engineers, contributes to architecture decisions, and owns infrastructure projects from scoping through rollout. It can be based remotely or at the company’s Washington, DC, New York, NY, or Chicago, IL offices.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with AWS core services such as EC2, EKS or ECS, S3, IAM, and networking.
• 2–4 years of DevOps engineering experience.
• Experience with infrastructure as code, such as Terraform or CloudFormation, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Demonstrated ability to own projects end to end and explain technical tradeoffs clearly to engineers outside infrastructure.
• Curiosity about AI and experience using AI tools to speed up infrastructure, debugging, or automation work.

Nice To Haves

• Kubernetes experience.

Responsibilities

• Own infrastructure as code and CI/CD pipelines so engineering teams can ship safely and frequently.
• Bring an infrastructure perspective to architecture decisions early and work alongside engineers.
• Improve observability, alerting, and incident response; identify root causes and share lessons learned.
• Lead defined infrastructure projects from scoping through rollout.
• Maintain a secure, reliable, and cost-efficient AWS environment.
• Review teammates’ infrastructure code and share knowledge.
• Use AI tools in infrastructure work and share effective practices with the team.
