About The Position

Klaviyo is seeking a Software Engineer II specializing in Data Management and Governance (DMG). This role is part of the Data Platform area, which works with large-scale distributed systems and databases to power core Klaviyo functionality and generate data-driven insights. The engineer will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining systems that support other engineering teams across Klaviyo. This involves collaborating with a cross-functional team to design systems, write high-quality code, create infrastructure, and operate large-scale systems in a production environment. Klaviyo operates a real-time data platform built for massive scale on Amazon Web Services (AWS). Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent experience in a software engineering discipline
  • 2+ years of experience in a software engineering discipline
  • Proficient in using at least one modern programming language
  • Experience designing, building, and operating distributed systems in a cloud computing environment
  • Experience with OLTP or OLAP databases
  • Experience with high volume data processing and storage systems
  • Experience provisioning infrastructure using Terraform or a similar infrastructure as code tool
  • Experience using Linux operating systems
  • Able to communicate well
  • Able to work with others on a team
  • Able to learn continuously and adapt to a high growth environment
  • Able to stick with and solve difficult problems
