About The Position

The Sensors: Space and Air division in El Segundo, CA is seeking a Software Engineer I [Embedded / Radar] to join their product development team for the Gen4 Tactical Airborne Radar group. This role involves working on technical problems and providing innovative solutions with guidance, contributing to all phases of the SW development lifecycle, including SW/HW integration. The engineer will develop RT embedded SW, specifically pertaining to various radar modes and capabilities, utilize investigation and troubleshooting skills to assess issues and develop solutions, and work with teams across multiple disciplines, internal and external. Responsibilities also include joining program and customer meetings/reviews, supporting team leads in technical decision making and problem resolution, ensuring performance to technical, cost, schedule, and quality, and supporting system and software requirements and architecture generation and analysis as needed. The position is located onsite at the El Segundo, CA Campus and requires the ability to obtain "special access programs" (SAP/SAR) for continuation of employment.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred).
  • A minimum of 1 year of progressive experience in embedded software development.
  • Development experience coding in C/C++/ADA or related languages/tools in radar-development software is required.
  • Experience working on UNIX, Linux, Windows, VxWorks or other RTOS.
  • Experience working in an agile/scrum team hyper-collaborative team environment using typical agile oriented tool suite.
  • Introductory Experience with design, code, integration, and test of software into a large software baseline and large system.
  • Must be able to obtain DoD Secret Clearance; US Citizenship is mandatory to acquire and maintain Security clearances.
  • Must be able to obtain "special access programs" (SAP/SAR) for continuation of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Current DoD Secret and Top Secret Clearance.
  • Experience developing Radar Software applications.
  • Direct experience with Agile methodologies.
  • Analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot tool and system operation performance issues.
  • Experience with large complex systems such as airborne radars.
