About The Position

Vertex LLC, a V2X company, is growing! Vertex is seeking a Software Engineer I to join our Modernization and Sustainment (M&S) Engineering team in Indianapolis, IN supporting software development and integration of advanced systems including situational awareness displays, mission computers, avionics, sensors, mission equipment, and radar systems. Our Indianapolis facility also supports a variety of other product lines serving multiple Department of Defense (DoD) customers, providing the opportunity to work on a diverse set of programs and roles supporting the continued advancement of your career.

Requirements

0 – 2+ years related experience in Software Development or other related engineering experience.
Basic understanding of programming fundamentals in languages like C/C++, Java, and Python.
Basic understanding of software development for one or more operating systems: Linux, Android, RTOS, or Windows.
Strong communication and teaming skills.
Ability to access systems with information restricted to U.S. citizens per federal contract requirements is required.
Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) secret security clearance.

Nice To Haves

Experience (academic or internship) with hardware-in-the-loop software development and integration (e.g. Robotics).
Familiarity with Object Oriented Analysis (OOA) and Object-Oriented Design (OOD).
Familiarity of one or more Agile process concepts
Experience with scripting and test automation (e.g., Python scripts, Bash).
Experience with Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) like Android Studio, Eclipse, and MS Visual Studio and source control apps like GIT and GitHub
Current/active/ability to obtain DoD Secret level or higher clearance.
