About The Position

WHOOP is looking for a Software Engineer to help build and scale the products and systems that power the WHOOP member experience. In this role, you will contribute across the software development lifecycle, partnering closely with Product, Design, Data Science, and Engineering to deliver high-quality experiences for our members. You’ll have the opportunity to strengthen your technical skills, contribute to meaningful product decisions, and leverage AI and agentic development workflows to help the team move faster while maintaining a high bar for quality, reliability, security, and performance. WHOOP Pace Setters is our program for exceptional graduating college seniors, offering a dedicated cohort experience with mentorship, development opportunities, and exposure to leaders and areas of the business beyond their day-to-day roles.

Requirements

  • Currently an undergraduate senior with expected graduation timeline of Spring 2027
  • Experience building software applications, services, APIs, or user-facing product experiences
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, Swift, Kotlin, or TypeScript, or demonstrated ability to quickly learn new technologies
  • Familiarity with version control systems such as Git and standard software development workflows
  • Understanding of fundamental computer science concepts, including data structures, algorithms, and system design fundamentals
  • Interest in building scalable, reliable software across areas such as mobile, web, backend systems, distributed architectures, and cloud platforms
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a growth mindset, with a willingness to seek feedback and continuously improve
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate within a cross-functional team environment
  • Strong commitment to embracing and leveraging AI tools in day-to-day tasks, ensuring AI-assisted work aligns with the same high-quality standards as personal contributions

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of software that powers WHOOP member-facing products and experiences using technologies such as Java, Swift, Kotlin, TypeScript, Kafka, Postgres, and AWS
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners across Product, Design, Data Science, and Engineering to translate requirements into well-scoped technical solutions
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code while participating in code reviews to continuously improve engineering quality and standards
  • Leverage AI tools and agentic workflows across the product development lifecycle—from requirements and technical design through implementation, testing, debugging, documentation, and production support—to accelerate development while maintaining high standards for quality, security, and reliability
  • Support the operation and monitoring of production systems, troubleshooting issues and helping ensure reliability, scalability, and performance
  • Break down feature requirements into actionable tasks, identify risks early, and iterate quickly to deliver value to WHOOP members
  • Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing to support team velocity and long-term maintainability
