About The Position

The ideal candidate brings deep experience in modern programming languages—preferably C++, though Go, Rust, or Python are also acceptable, and has a proven ability to work on complex, high‑impact systems. This role supports the team’s satellite protocol processing mission, requiring engineers who can analyze, design, and implement software solutions for specialized data flows and operational environments. Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus seven (7) years of experience in software engineering (OR) in lieu of a degree, a total of eleven (11) or more years of software engineering experience.
  • Software Engineer Level II's require a relevant Bachelor's degree or higher plus fourteen (14) years of software engineering experience (OR) in lieu of a degree, a total of eighteen (18) or more years of software engineering experience.
  • Deep experience with satellite protocol processing.
  • Expertise in C++, Go, Rust, or Python for mission‑critical systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to support large‑scale, complex mission programs.
  • An active Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph is required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize software components that process satellite‑based data and mission protocols.
  • Design and implement software using C++ or other modern languages such as Go, Rust, or Python.
  • Support mission requirements by developing reliable, efficient, and scalable software for operational environments.
  • Apply strong analytical skills to diagnose complex issues, evaluate technical approaches, and improve system performance.
  • Integrate software components with existing mission systems, data pipelines, and processing frameworks.
  • Participate in code reviews, enforce coding standards, and contribute to continuous improvement of development practices.
  • Produce clear technical documentation and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support mission execution.
