Software Engineer I - Core Platform - Streaming & Storage
About The Position
StubHub is seeking a Software Engineer I to join their Core Platform - Streaming & Storage team. This role will involve building and operating foundational streaming, messaging, and storage platforms that power critical workflows across StubHub. The team provides core engineering products such as message queues, DQL, retry infrastructure, messaging control planes, and storage platforms including key-value databases, distributed caches, blob storage, and search/indexing systems. These platforms enable teams to build reliable, scalable, and event-driven services. As a Software Engineer I, you will contribute to the development, testing, and operation of shared platform services, learning from experienced engineers. You will help improve reliability, performance, and developer experience, and support engineering teams in adopting modern streaming and storage patterns. This is an opportunity to gain deep expertise in distributed systems while working on infrastructure with broad impact across StubHub.
Requirements
- Recent graduate or software engineer with up to ~1 year of experience (including internships, co-ops, or substantial academic projects)
- Strong CS fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, and core programming concepts)
- Basic experience building user-facing applications and/or consuming APIs
Nice To Haves
- Exposure to LLMs or GenAI tools (coursework, internships, hackathons, or side projects)—bonus if you’ve used frameworks or platforms like Anthropic or ChatGPT in something you built.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain impactful improvements that cross the frontend and backend code across all StubHub’s platforms and products, resulting in high-quality outcomes
- Collaborate with team members to ensure best practices across our code
- Manage individual initiative priorities, deadlines, and deliverables with your technical expertise
