Collins Aerospace’s Resilient Connectivity Products (RCP) team is looking for an exceptionally motivated entry-level Engineer that is passionate about collaborating with High-Performance Teams to create mission critical solutions supporting Mission Systems. Our Software Engineers work in an exciting, adaptive, and engaging environment enabling rapid learning to drive success. They utilize a variety of skills on a regular basis including requirements analysis, synthesis of new and existing architectures that meld commercial and military communication functionality and software engineering development best practices for complex systems where the ability to execute the mission is paramount. This position will sit at our Aguadilla, PR location and is to be worked Onsite, 5 days a week. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered.

Requirements

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and less than 2 years prior relevant experience.
Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).
Educational knowledge and project application on software development using Python, C++, or similar, including debugging, integration, and deployment on software platforms.
Familiarity with software development processes (e.g., Agile, DevSecOps, CI/CD) and tools (e.g., Git, Gitlab, JIRA).
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance after start date.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge in basic Linux shell scripting, Python or Perl
Working knowledge of programming languages such as C++ or C#
Software level debugging experience.
Knowledge of Database language such as SQL
Familiarity with Git, Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence, and Coverity.

Responsibilities

Collaborate on System Requirements and Software Development: Join a dynamic software team in a cross-functional environment, contributing to the definition of system requirements and translating them into detailed software requirements, UML/SysML models, and diagrams for a large-scale program
Effective Communication and Team Collaboration: Work closely with other software engineers and team members to ensure clear communication and collaboration, fostering a cohesive, solution-focused environment across multiple disciplines
Develop Code to Meet Customer and Certification Standards: Collaborate with your team to maintain, enhance, and develop software that aligns with customer requirements and meets certification standards, ensuring both functionality and compliance
Software Implementation in Test Environments: Take responsibility for producing high-quality software implementations and integrating them within testing environments, ensuring the code is thoroughly tested and meets all specified requirements
