About The Position

This is a hybrid position that requires residency in California, even during remote work periods. Located in Redondo Beach, CA, GungHo Online Entertainment America Inc. is the U.S. subsidiary of the Japanese game company GungHo Online Entertainment, Inc. Publishing titles across multiple platforms ranging from console to handheld and mobile, our group is comprised of veterans from various aspects of the industry brought together by one simple thing: a love of gaming. This position is responsible for designing and implementing features for our new, internally developed AAA game, as well as general debugging and troubleshooting.

Requirements

  • Must have 4 years experience in programing, professionally or in school.
  • In depth knowledge of Unreal and C++.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Desire to learn and to grow.
  • Ability to work with small, agile team environments.

Nice To Haves

  • B.S. or equivalent in Computer Science is preferred.
  • Fluency in 3D graphics and shader programming is a plus.
  • Passion for games is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement and debug features for our internally developed AAA game.
  • Work with Unreal.
  • Discuss, design, and plan game features with artists and game designers.
  • Attend trade shows and live events as needed (e.g. E3, Anime Expo, etc.).
  • Test prototypes of future game titles to provide constructive feedback.
