This position is for a motivated embedded software engineer who is familiar with both motor controls software and functional safety software. The role involves resolving software and calibration issues at different test setups, acting as both a team player and an individual contributor. The engineer will study different versions of inverter hardware, understand the impact on low-level drivers, and develop appropriate functional safety algorithms.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Computer Science, or related degree, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in Embedded C, Python, and Matlab

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of experience with motor controls software is a plus
  • 1+ years of experience with ISO 26262 is a plus
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Understanding of Hybrid Vehicle operation is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Apply ISO 26262 to develop functional safety software for motor controls
  • Develop and maintain functional safety software calibration
  • Design and execute test methods to validate functional safety software using HIL and SIL
  • Assist in the troubleshooting of functional safety software and calibration issues, both in development and in production
  • Support interface requirement specification development
  • Collaborate with the functional safety teams to ensure requirement traceability
  • Support low-level driver integration and troubleshooting
  • Support bench testing validation of each new low-level driver package
  • Support all motor controls software release processes
  • Create and execute data post-processing scripts
  • Support motor controls software testing in HIL, dynamometer lab and vehicle
  • Propose technical solutions to both functional safety and motor controls issues
