About The Position
Sales and Operations Engineering is part of IS&T and drives the technology behind Apple's global operations, sales, and supply chain. The team connects the systems that move products from factory to customer — bridging sales platforms with the operational infrastructure that keeps Apple running at scale and ensuring Apple's technology and business priorities move in lockstep. As a Full Stack Software Engineer, you will be responsible for building the user-facing applications and backend services behind our Data and ML platforms, including the insights portal, data observability, data lineage, model hub, and data visualization. You will either build custom solutions from the ground up or take open source products and customize them for Apple's needs. We're looking for an individual who loves to take on challenges, tackles problems with imaginative solutions, works well in collaborative teams, and can produce high-quality software under tight deadlines and constraints. This role involves building intuitive web interfaces and the APIs that power them, as well as tools and frameworks that extend the functionality of 3rd party BI tools using APIs.
Requirements
- 4 years of hands-on proficiency with Java and/or Python or similar language for back-end development.
- 4 years of hands-on experience building web user interfaces with a modern front-end framework such as React, Angular, or Vue, using JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
- 4 years work with data structures and algorithms.
- 4 years experience developing micro-services and REST APIs.
- 4 years experience with SQL and/or NoSQL data stores.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of cloud computing platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, Azure or similar.
- Strong problem-solving skills and excellent communication skills.
- Experience building data-driven user interfaces, such as dashboards, charts, or visualization libraries (e.g., D3, Highcharts).
- Experience building and deploying cloud-native applications/products.
- Familiarity with designing scalable and performant services.
- Experience customizing or extending open source products, or integrating with 3rd party BI tools via APIs.
- Working experience with big data technologies and data platforms.
- Familiarity with distributed computing technologies.
- Experience with CI/CD, containers (Docker), and automated testing.
- Prior experience in the areas of AI/ML/Data Science will be a strong plus.
