Software Engineer, Full Stack

XDOFSan Francisco, CA
Onsite

About The Position

Full-stack engineers at XDOF build the software that our team and our partners interact with every day: from the backend services that orchestrate jobs against real hardware, through to the UI that customers use to manage datasets, launch evaluations, and monitor results. At XDOF, we’re at an inflection point. Frontier labs are racing to build general-purpose robots, and high-quality training data is the bottleneck. We’re building the foundation behind the foundation models – the data collection systems, operational capability, exabyte-scale data warehouse, and software toolchain – to help our partners drive the field forward.

Requirements

  • bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or a related field
  • strong proficiency in Python and at least one modern frontend framework (React, Vue, or similar)
  • experience building and shipping web applications with real users, from database to UI
  • comfort designing APIs and working across backend services, databases, and frontend code

Nice To Haves

  • experience building data-intensive applications or tools for technical users
  • built product features that orchestrate or interact with physical hardware or compute infrastructure
  • worked with data visualization libraries or built custom dashboards
  • prior experience with AI, robotics, or scientific computing environments
  • care about craft in both backend architecture and frontend UX
  • very comfortable working in 0→1 environments
  • mission-driven and passionate about robotics

Responsibilities

  • building the customer-facing platform for partners to browse, search, and manage large-scale robotics datasets
  • designing and implementing APIs that power both internal tools and external-facing platform features
  • building interfaces for customers to configure, launch, and monitor workflows that run against real robotic hardware
  • contributing to our data collection application across the full stack
  • creating data visualization interfaces that help researchers and operators inspect collection quality at a glance
