About The Position

Join a dynamic team of software engineers supporting the development of embedded application software for a new ground combat vehicle program. You will contribute across the full software development lifecycle, including development environment migration, requirements and architecture documentation, software design, coding, testing, and integration. This position requires Fire Control and embedded software experience and is 100% onsite.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience in a related software engineering role.
  • Fire Control experience.
  • Embedded software experience.
  • Experience with Git, Bitbucket, Java, C#, C++, C, and Python.
  • Experience working in mixed operating system environments, including VxWorks, Linux, RTOS, virtualization, BSPs, and GVOS.
  • Experience with serial and network protocols such as RS-232/422, CAN, TCP/IP, and UDP/IP.
  • Experience with DDS, Kafka, or other publish/subscribe middleware.
  • Experience with Time Sensitive Network (TSN) architectures.
  • Experience with NGVA (NATO Ground Vehicle Architecture) data models.
  • Experience with UKGVA (UK Ground Vehicle Architecture) data models.
  • Experience with ground combat vehicle network architecture.
  • Experience with GCIA, MOSA, SOSA, and FACE.
  • Experience using Agile processes and tools.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous defense industry experience.
  • Familiarity with Type 1/2 hypervisors.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with IoT concepts.
  • Experience with Cameo Systems Modeler.
  • Additional DDS experience.
  • Experience with UDP and TCP.
  • Multicast networking experience.
  • Ability to contribute continuous improvement processes and methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, and test a new software development environment used to create documentation, code, test artifacts, and other software work products.
  • Develop software documentation and code across vehicle domains such as board support, displays, power management, lethality, software deployment, embedded training, and diagnostics.
  • Perform software requirements analysis.
  • Develop preliminary and detailed software designs using department-standard design tools.
  • Develop software designs that influence overall vehicle architecture.
  • Develop code in accordance with department standards and procedures.
  • Develop test procedures and perform unit and functional testing of executable software.
  • Perform hardware/software integration.
  • Debug software issues identified throughout multiple testing phases.
  • Provide development status updates to software project leads.
  • Integrate software releases across multiple CSCIs into overall vehicle software releases.
  • Interface with Systems Engineering, Project Management, Software Quality, and other departments and business units.
  • Lead Agile Scrum ceremonies, including daily Scrum meetings, PI Planning events, retrospectives, and demonstrations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
