Software Engineer, Enterprise Build

RobinhoodMenlo Park, CA
$130,000 - $195,000Hybrid

About The Position

Robinhood is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Enterprise Build team. This team is responsible for transforming AI-built prototypes into enterprise-grade services. The role involves assessing, rebuilding, and hardening AI-generated code to meet Robinhood's high engineering standards, including SSO, audit logging, secrets management, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and security review. The engineer will work directly with business partners in a forward-deployed manner to ensure the software meets real-world needs. The position is based in the Menlo Park, CA office, requiring at least 3 days per week in-person. Robinhood emphasizes the value of in-person work for accelerating progress, sparking innovation, and strengthening community.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of software engineering experience building and running production backend or full-stack systems.
  • A track record of independently delivering high-ambiguity projects end-to-end.
  • Hands-on cloud depth, GCP preferred, including containerized services, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code, with a strong focus on a serverless stack.
  • Demonstrated AI-native development: daily fluency with agentic coding tools, experience building LLM-powered applications or agentic workflows, and the judgment to review, harden, and productionize AI-generated code.
  • Product sense and scoping discipline: ability to identify the essential parts of a prototype and complete engagements efficiently.
  • Exceptional communication skills with non-engineers, comfortable embedding with business partners and translating technical concepts accurately.
  • Experience in highly regulated industries, particularly finance or fintech, is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assess AI-built prototypes from across the company and make technical decisions on whether to harden, rebuild, or redirect them, owning the outcome end-to-end.
  • Design, build, and ship services on Robinhood's enterprise platforms, ensuring they meet the company's standards for secure, reliable enterprise software.
  • Develop AI-natively by driving agents through first-pass assessment, porting, and test scaffolding, and shipping MCP servers, sub-agents, and agent skills as production artifacts.
  • Collaborate directly with sponsoring business units (Finance, HR, Legal, Compliance) during each build, translating real workflows into adoptable software.
  • Deliver clean operational handoffs, including runbooks, evaluations, and dashboards, as part of the definition of done.
  • Establish paved patterns with the Enterprise Platforms team by creating platform capabilities when solving the same problem multiple times.
  • Enhance AI-era engineering quality through rigorous, teaching-quality reviews of AI-generated code, both your own and others'.
