Lockheed Martin Aeronautics is seeking a full-time Early Career Software Engineer. In this role, you will design and develop automation utilities, troubleshoot and support CI/CD build Pipelines, and develop build automation infrastructure. The successful candidate will have experience and/or knowledge of programming in Python, Linux/Unix command line, software configuration management tools. Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related STEM degree
  • Experience programming in Python
  • Experience with the Linux/Unix command line
  • Experience with software configuration management tools (Git, Artifactory, Nexus)
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • this position will require a government security clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to GitLab CI/CD; can trigger pipelines and read basic job logs.
  • Familiar with Docker basics (building images, running containers); limited or no experience with Kubernetes.
  • Basic understanding of OOP terminology (classes, inheritance) and can read simple class structures.
  • Experience debugging straightforward scripts.
  • Ability to modify simple legacy scripts (e.g., Perl) into basic Python equivalents under supervision.
