Software Engineer - Distributed Systems

DFINITY is seeking a Distributed Systems Engineer to work on their core consensus algorithm, secure distributed message routing, payment, voting, system governance, and versioning. The ideal candidate should have experience shipping significant software systems or tooling as part of a medium to large organization, a deep understanding of at least one systems software language like C, C++, or Rust, and experience deploying and operating systems that run 24x7x365. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred, but practical experience is more important. The company is looking for team players who enjoy working alongside other brilliant people to come up with the best solutions together, and who possess curiosity and open-mindedness to help solve challenging problems.

• Work on core consensus algorithm, secure distributed message routing, payment, voting, system governance, and versioning
• Build and maintain a 'world computer' powerful enough to host Web3 dApps, DeFi, games, NFTs, social media, and metaverse projects
• Implement sophisticated, secure, and efficient consensus algorithms and distributed messaging protocols
• Ship significant software systems or tooling as part of a medium to large organization
• Deploy and operate systems that run 24x7x365 and build the monitoring, alarming, and tooling required to keep them healthy
• Collaborate with other brilliant people to come up with the best solutions together
• Solve challenging problems and innovate to help solve them.
