About The Position

Imagine what you could do here to help students get excited about learning and employees work more efficiently by making it easier for organizations to configure and manage Apple devices in schools and businesses around the world. Mobile Device Management and Declarative Device Management are the technologies which enable device management tools from both Apple and many third-party partners to remotely manage millions of Apple devices every day. The team is looking for a committed, highly competent engineer to contribute to current and future applications of device management to enable our customers to manage Apple devices for their users.

Requirements

  • Experience with professional software development in a C-like programming language (Swift, Objective-C, Java, C++, C#, etc.)
  • Familiarity with concurrent programming concepts and design patterns, such as multi-threading, serialization, and locking
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies while working collaboratively with others
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, an engineering-related field, or equivalent related experience

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with device management technologies such as MDM and Declarative Device Management
  • Working knowledge of key Apple technologies like CoreData, libdispatch, XPC, Swift concurrency
  • Experience with framework, daemon and/or public API development, especially with respect to macOS
  • Experience implementing client - server network communication
  • Experience coding in Swift or Objective-C

Responsibilities

  • Influence product features
  • Implement new OS-level functionality
  • Work cross-functionally with many other teams across Apple to design and implement innovative solutions to the problems organizations face while incorporating technology without compromising the Apple user experience for the end user of each device.
  • Build partnerships with many different engineering teams across the company, from system and Apple's App Store apps to low-level OS infrastructure.
