About The Position

The Boeing Company is looking for a Software Development Engineer (Associate, Experienced, or Senior Level) to join the B-52 Software Blocks (BSB) team located in Oklahoma City, OK. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization. The software block process focuses on performing corrective, adaptive, and perfective maintenance on fielded B-52 software. Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Associate, Experienced and Senior Level Engineers.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree
Ability to Obtain U.S. Secret – Interim Pre-Start & Final Post Start (U.S. Citizenship required)
5+ years of experience in software development utilizing Java, C++, or Ada 96.
5+ years of hands-on experience in developing and deploying software programs.
5+ years of experience writing and testing software.

Associate Level (Level 2): Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science and 2+ years of related work experience OR Bachelor’s Degree and 6+ years of directly related work experience OR 10+ years of related, relevant experience
Mid-Level (Level 3): Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science and 5+ years of related work experience OR Bachelor’s Degree and 9+ years of directly related work experience OR 13+ years of related, relevant experience

Experience with C++, Ada 95, Java, Git, Python, Linux.
Shipped products in multiple technology stacks.
Recent experience writing production code in the mentioned technologies.

Responsibilities

Designs, develops, tests, and maintains non-embedded software throughout the end-to-end lifecycle that meets industry, customer, safety, and regulation standards
Develop and maintain code, integrating software components into a fully functional system
Collaborate on software verification plans, test procedures, and test environments
Execute test procedures and document results to ensure software system requirements are met
Reviews, analyzes, and translates customer requirements into initial design of software products
Develops, maintains, enhances and optimizes software products and functionalities for systems integrations
Develops, documents and maintains architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software products
Debugs and resolves issues identified to ensure the reliability and efficiency of software products
Handles user inquiries, troubleshoots technical issues and user feedback analysis
Implements current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks and changes in regulations relevant to software development
Develops, establishes, monitors and improves software processes, tools and key performance metrics that align projects with organizational goals and industry benchmarks
Executes and documents software research and development projects
Advises on software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations
Performs software project management activities and software supplier management functions
Tracks and evaluates software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process compliance to project plans and industry standards
