About The Position

The Boeing Company is looking for a Software Engineer-Developer (Virtual) to join the Boeing Software Factory Developer Experience team. This position will focus on developing and maintaining the Fabric tool suite — an integrated ecosystem of web-based developer productivity tools built for the Boeing Software Factory. The Software Engineer will be responsible for full-stack product development, DevOps infrastructure, and AI-assisted development tooling across a portfolio of internal web applications.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree
  • To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
  • 3+ years of experience developing Python applications (web servers, API development)
  • 2+ years of experience with Automation and/or CI/CD techniques and design patterns
  • Experience with front end web programming such as Angular or React
  • Experience with working knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • Experience deploying to AWS EKS with Helm charts and GitLab Agents
  • Familiarity with SQLite and data pipeline development
  • Experience building design systems or shared component libraries
  • Experience with AI/LLM tooling, prompt engineering, or agent development
  • Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies
  • Experience with git-based workflow automation

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain web applications using Python, JavaScript, Typescript, HTML, and CSS
  • Build and operate GitLab CI/CD pipelines including multi-project build orchestration, container image builds (Kaniko), and Helm-based deployments to EKS (Kubernetes)
  • Develop AI agent tooling — steering files, skills libraries, prompt engineering, and integrations with AI coding assistants
  • Create and maintain a shared design system (CSS tokens, components, layout primitives) consumed across all products
  • Develop data visualization dashboards pulling live data from GitLab APIs (epics, issues, metrics) into SQL backed web apps to support project health metrics
  • Implement developer experience tools including web analytics and OKR tracking
  • Deploy and manage containerized applications on AWS EKS with Helm charts, GitLab Agents, and feature-branch environments
