About The Position

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking a Systems Software Developer and Integrator (JSE) Junior to join a team integrating new versions of Joint Simulation Environment (JSE) software products and data. The role includes integration testing of newly integrated versions and reporting test results to determine whether a JSE software baseline is ready to advance to the next level of testing. The position supports the platform integration team responsible for integrating new versions of JSE software, a simulation environment for warfighters.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering; degrees in Information Technology, Mathematics, Physics, Aerospace, Computer, Software Systems, Electrical, or Electronic fields are also accepted, or four years of related work experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree.
At least 2–3+ years of experience.
Experience coding with C++ or Python.
Experience developing with Windows and Linux.
Experience with Git.
Experience troubleshooting, debugging, maintaining, and improving existing software code.
Understanding of JSE product dependencies and their relationships.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.
Excellent personal communication skills.
Ability to work in a flexible, high-performance development environment.

Responsibilities

Integrate new versions of JSE software products and data.
Conduct integration testing on newly integrated versions and provide test results to determine readiness for the next level of testing.
Perform hotfix software changes and builds to address critical issues.
Merge software work into baseline development trucks using Git and GitLab.
Develop, test, and debug behavior scripts for JSE integration and products.
Troubleshoot, debug, maintain, and improve existing software code.
