About The Position

The MBTA Reliability Engineering department works to support safe, reliable transit service and performance across transportation modes. Its objectives include maintaining a State of Good Repair for infrastructure and vehicle assets, modeling and predicting asset performance and reliability, improving infrastructure quality and compliance, and developing technical documentation for stakeholders. The Reliability & Configuration Engineering team documents asset data and lifecycle-management processes and procedures and provides technical guidance for the MBTA’s Enterprise Asset Management System (EAMS). The team is hiring two co-ops/interns to assist staff and consultants on software and related projects. The co-op will work directly with the EAMS Developer. The role is 40 hours per week for at least six months, January through June, and requires onsite work at least two to three days per week. Work locations include 10 Park Plaza and the MBTA Engineering & Maintenance Charlestown Office at 21 Arlington Avenue; the posting notes that more onsite time is preferred because of the largely in-person work environment. The work includes software development, automation, reporting and analytics, reliability data management, API documentation, testing, and project coordination. Co-ops will also engage with agile software development practices and participate in meetings, organizational events, fieldwork, and project teams as assigned.
