About The Position

This role involves employing innovative thought and automation to improve workflow, efficiency, and productivity. The Software Engineer CloudOps will perform a variety of complicated tasks and provide support for escalated trouble tickets, in support of internal customers and partners. They will design, build, and support Internal Applications, DevOps pipelines, and create new ones, assisting the entire USGov Team. The role requires working with waterfall and in a scrum or sprint lifecycle using a work item/ticketing queue to manage work. The engineer must be able to take a project or task from inception to completion, understanding when to escalate. Responsibilities include supporting Production Environments as part of a 24x7x365 on-call rotation to ensure availability, resiliency, and performance meets SLAs. This includes troubleshooting and debugging C#/ASP.NET applications and/or PaaS service failures. The role also involves continuously maintaining and/or improving the security of client environments and customer data, and collaborating with customer service, professional service, project/program/product managers, and engineers to ensure critical and time-sensitive projects run smoothly to achieve business outcomes. The ideal candidate is a passionate, continuous learner who keeps up with relevant, latest trends, technologies, and tools in the industry. They will deploy, configure, secure, and monitor various Azure services using Ansible, Terraform, Azure DevOps pipelines, or Azure ARM Templates. Other job-related duties may be assigned, such as assisting with evidence collection during audits.

Requirements

  • Comprehensive knowledge of one or more of the following languages and patterns: C#, C++, ASP.NET, MVC, Java, JavaScript, Python, Web API, and Microsoft SQL
  • Create, update, and maintain documentation for systems, processes, procedures, and infrastructure configuration
  • Thorough knowledge in developing code that is maintainable, secure, scalable, robust, upgrade safe, and considers the “Edge Cases”
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the capability of taking complex, often technical, concepts and explaining them to those with little technical knowledge
  • Thorough automation creation experience with proficiency in PowerShell, JavaScript, Linux/BashShell, Ansible, Terraform, and JSON/YAML
  • Thorough knowledge of cloud concepts, mission critical cloud first infrastructures, applications, services, storage, compute, and networking components (preferably in Microsoft Azure)
  • Solid C#, ASP.NET, IIS, and application debugging skills
  • Working experience with automation of serverless and container technologies (Azure Function Apps, Kubernetes Service (AKS), and Docker)
  • Strong Windows and Linux Systems, network and IIS administration skills
  • Customer-centric attitude and does not mind taking ownership of issues from others and driving them to completion
  • Thorough experience with systems automation and platform engineering to create, manage, and monitor cloud-based systems and versioned application deployments
  • Thorough experience working in rapidly changing environments and working independently with multiple teams to clarify, validate, execute software requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with compliance standards (HIPPA, PCI, PCI DSS, ISO 27001, NIST, FedRAMP, CMMC, IL3-5, etc.)
  • Interest in Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning, GenAI, and AI-driven solutions that power our contract intelligence platform
  • General knowledge of Microsoft/Azure SQL Programing, data tools, always-on, performance, stored-procedures, schema, and queries
  • Experience with collaboration tools: Microsoft Teams/SharePoint/ADO
  • Working knowledge of Azure Portal/Azure DevOps/Visual Studio Code/Active
