  • Experience with Python and/or TypeScript and the ability to read, review, test, and discuss code. Strong fundamentals in another modern programming language will also be considered.
  • Foundational knowledge of system design, database design, cloud infrastructure, and the tradeoffs involved in building reliable services.
  • Experience writing SQL and working with structured data, relational databases, data models, or data pipelines.
  • An understanding of HTTP, REST APIs, data exchange formats, and service-to-service integrations.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing concepts and at least one major cloud platform.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills, along with a willingness to seek guidance and take increasing ownership.

Responsibilities

  • Build and enhance internal software for application portfolio management, cloud cost optimization, and software efficiency.
  • Develop backend services, APIs, integrations, and data pipelines that connect cloud cost, usage, resource, application, ownership, and portfolio data.

  • Contribute to system design, database design, and infrastructure decisions, balancing scalability, reliability, security, usability, and cost.
  • Use approved AI coding agents for implementation, testing, refactoring, and documentation; read, review, test, and debug the resulting code.
  • Build secure, observable services using CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, logging, metrics, and tracing.
