About The Position

Hadrian is seeking a curious, self-motivated software engineer to join its Autonomous Factory Systems division. The role develops software interfaces for industrial machinery used in milling, welding, forming, and other manufacturing processes. The team builds software that enables factories to sense, decide, and act autonomously, including robotics software, orchestration between robots and manufacturing machines, and hardware abstraction layers connecting software to factory equipment. The engineer will work with robotics, mechanical, and controls engineers to bring advanced production systems from concept to operation and help scale Hadrian into a multi-factory company across the United States. The position focuses on coordinating mechatronic devices, developing interfaces for technicians, integrating automated manufacturing systems, and building device data pipelines for factory planning and scheduling.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of software engineering experience.
  • Proficiency in Python, TypeScript, C#, or C++.
  • Strong ability and desire to work directly with hardware on the factory floor.
  • Demonstrated ability to make decisions with incomplete information and deliver complex systems on schedule.
  • Must meet applicable U.S. Government export-control eligibility requirements: be a U.S. citizen or national, lawful permanent resident, protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience developing software interfaces for physical systems in manufacturing, industrial automation, robotics, or 3D printing.
  • Familiarity with industrial communication protocols such as OPC UA or Profinet.
  • Backend TypeScript experience and comfort working across orchestration, machine interfaces, and data pipelines.

Responsibilities

  • Develop software to coordinate mechatronic devices for automated manufacturing cells.
  • Create human-machine interfaces that enable technicians to control and monitor automation on industrial machines.
  • Ensure seamless software integration of automated manufacturing systems into Hadrian factories.
  • Build data logging pipelines for connected devices that feed operational planning and factory scheduling.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans for employees.
  • 401k.
  • Relocation support may be provided in certain situations, based on business need.
