About The Position

The Boeing Company is looking for a Software Engineer – C2BMC (Associate, Experienced or Senior) to join their Missile Defense Team. This position will focus on supporting the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS), contributing to the Missile Defense Agency's (MDA) mission to develop and deploy a layered Missile Defense System. The role involves being part of a passionate and highly motivated team at the forefront of national defense. Access to an MDA facility may be required, necessitating a background investigation by U.S. government authorities. The company is hiring for Associate, Experienced, and Senior Software Engineers.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree
Ability to obtain Secret U.S. Security Clearance
2+ years of experience with backend development (Java, Spring, Oracle SQL, SQL Server)
1+ years of experience in Unified Modeling Language (UML) or other software architecture and design modeling techniques
1+ years of experience with Agile software development lifecycle
Must be a U.S. Citizen to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.
An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science and 1+ years of related work experience OR Bachelor’s Degree and 6+ years of directly related work experience OR 10+ years of related, relevant experience
3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Strong understanding of software development principles including OOP, design patterns, and testing/debugging techniques
Use of Eclipse, Maven, Gradle, and/or microservices in software development
Experience software performance optimization
Experience using automated unit testing frameworks
Security+ or equivalent certification within 60 days of starting
Missile defense domain experience, but not required
Knowledge of server-side development and message passing
Command and control system application development
Effective oral and written communication skills
Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to review performance issues, identify root causes, recommend and develop a solution

Responsibilities

Work with other industry partners as a key contributor to the design, development, and testing of Java-based applications in support of the C2BMC applications.
Support full software development lifecycle including generating design artifacts, implementing software changes, supporting design and code reviews, software testing, and resolution of issues found during testing.
Actively participate in agile planning and execution using established processes.
Software Requirements and architecture development in support of MDS systems.
Develop, select, tailor and deploy integration and test processes, tools and metrics.
Execute and document integration and test activities and events.
Mentor junior engineers.
