About The Position

Gridline is seeking a Backend Software Engineer to be a key architect of the digital infrastructure powering their alternative investment platform. The role involves taking ownership of complex production services and navigating the technical challenges of building high-stakes fintech systems. The engineer will be critical in evolving the SaaS architecture to ensure the platform remains performant, resilient, and capable of handling sophisticated financial transactions. This is an opportunity to join Gridline at an inflection point, reporting directly to the Director of Engineering.

Requirements

At least 4 years of backend engineering experience, specifically with Golang and MySQL.
At least some experience with Claude prompt engineering.
Ideally, experience with AWS (Terraform/Terragrunt) or similar.
Ideally, prior experience in Fintech or regulated industries, specifically with payments, reconciliation, or transaction/ledger systems.
Based in Atlanta, GA (hybrid).

Responsibilities

Lead Technical Design: Provide guidance and mentorship on design patterns, code quality, and engineering best practices across the backend.
Build Scalable Systems: Develop, maintain, and optimize fault-tolerant services using Go to support our growing fintech ecosystem.
Architect SaaS Solutions: Design and evolve distributed systems, focusing on data modeling, concurrency, and resiliency patterns.
Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with product, design, and operations teams to translate complex requirements into high-impact features.
Ensure Reliability: Implement robust observability and testing strategies to maintain a high bar for performance and stability in a regulated environment.
