Cboe Clear U.S. (CCUS) is a regulated clearinghouse that clears event contracts and prediction markets listed on Cboe’s exchanges. The team is building toward tokenized collateral, 24x7 operation, and infrastructure connecting traditional finance with DeFi rails. The Software Engineer builds and operates services that clear trades, owning features within team-defined designs, tests, and observability, and participating in on-call support for the code they own. Java is the primary stack, though the team welcomes engineers with experience in other languages. The team values design documents and architecture decision records before implementation, collaboration across team boundaries, production-ready instrumentation, and learning from feedback. The role follows a four-day-in-office work model at Cboe’s Chicago headquarters. The technology environment includes Java, Kubernetes, GitHub and GitHub Actions, Harbor and Artifactory, Helm, ArgoCD, PostgreSQL, Kafka, and Linux. This technology list is representative rather than exhaustive; candidates are encouraged to apply if they have built similar systems and learn quickly. The position requires at least five years of backend development experience and a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship. The anticipated U.S. base salary range is $107,525–$139,150. The position may also be eligible for annual incentive compensation and, where applicable, participation in Cboe’s long-term equity programs.
