About The Position

We are hiring a Software Engineer - Backend EU/UK remote (m/f/d) to join the Banking Infrastructure team. The Banking Infrastructure team owns the systems that connect our platform to external banking institutions and payment networks. Operating at the core of money movement, the team builds and maintains integrations with partner banks and banking-as-a-service providers, ensuring secure and accurate execution of payments across multiple rails (including SEPA, ACH, SWIFT, FPS , and others) and markets. This is high-impact, high-scale engineering at the core of a fast-growing fintech, where precision, resilience, and smart execution directly shape how money moves for thousands of organizations. Requirements

  • Expertise in building testable, maintainable, and extendable systems.
  • Obsession with the best engineering practices.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience with Java and Spring Boot (or relevant stack).
  • Proficiency with REST APIs and event driven communication patterns.
  • Proficiency with relational databases (preferably PostgreSQL)
  • Experience with AWS and Docker.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with others to drive epics and technical initiatives within the team. From solution conception to delivering production ready code to ensure continuous feature delivery.
  • Actively participating in shaping our technical direction and how the systems should grow by bringing up possible improvement topics for a healthy discussion within the team.
  • Ensuring a scalable, maintainable, and secure micro-service architecture that can handle the expected load and grow iteratively as needed.
  • Participating in the on-call rotation and the overall support effort of the team while keeping an eye on root causes and possible system improvement points.
  • Communication is key in our team and we like to avoid knowledge silos by maintaining a knowledge sharing culture through documentation pages such as RFCs and ADRs, or grooming meetings -when needed- to ensure team alignment before we commit to a given work plan.
  • Working closely with the product manager and the engineering manager and frontend engineers to align on action items and deliver high quality features.
