About The Position

This role involves defining the future of password management, enhancing the sign-in experience for apps and websites, and promoting a more secure future with passkeys. The team is responsible for the Passwords app, Password AutoFill, developer APIs, and other features integrated into iOS and macOS. The goal is to improve people’s security, privacy, and quality of life when creating accounts and signing into daily apps and websites. As an Authentication Experience Engineer, you will invent new features and guide them through the entire software development process, from prototyping and coding to debugging and shipping, while also communicating their story. You will engage with users to understand their needs and feedback, using this insight to improve existing features and prioritize future development. This position requires close collaboration with internal teams, including security, privacy, and human interface design.

Requirements

• Excellent communication skills
• Detailed knowledge of any one of: Objective-C, Swift, C++
• Strong programming, debugging, and problem solving skills
• Ability to work with cross-functional partners in engineering as well as project management, design, and marketing
• Experience mentoring other engineers
• Experience driving cross-functional projects from inception to release

Nice To Haves

• Experience with user interface development with UIKit, AppKit or SwiftUI
• Comfort evaluating ideas from both a usability and security perspective

Responsibilities

• Invent new features and take them through the software development process, spanning from prototyping, coding, debugging, and through to shipping and communicating their story
• Empathize with the people who will use the software and listen to their feedback to improve existing features and help decide where the team’s attention should go next
• Work closely with the rest of the team and with other teams, including the security, privacy, and human interface design teams
