Come join the Boeing Platforms department engineering team as a Software Engineer 1. The engineer will help with requirements capture and design and develop embedded software in C++ for the A661 Graphics Server. The candidate will also test and verify the developed software to Design Assurance Level A fidelity per DO-178C standard.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a bachelor’s or master’s degree in science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM) discipline.
  • Must be willing to work 40 hours per week.
  • US Citizen, no dual citizenship.
  • Requires theoretical knowledge typically obtained through University Degree. Limited to some knowledge of RTX organization.
  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and less than 2 years prior relevant experience.
  • Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated interest in embedded software solutions and board-level device drivers.
  • Programming experience in C, C++ and/or Python.
  • Experience working with OpenGL and/or Vulkan.
  • Comfortable with real-time operating system and object-oriented programming concepts.
  • Experience with all phases of the software development life cycle.
  • Energetic and proactive self-starter with strong interpersonal and communications skills.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to Software Requirements, Design, Code, and Verification of the cockpit display system’s graphics server.
  • Understand Collins Aerospace processes related to software development and verification and apply them to current projects.
  • Work with desktop computer in an office environment and with target hardware in an engineering lab to achieve the goal of delivering a high-quality software product within schedule and cost constraints.
  • Identify the root cause of moderate to complex software issues using appropriate debug and analysis tools.
  • Clearly summarize encountered technical software issues to project leadership in a timely fashion.
  • Work together in a collaborative team that is part of multi large systems.
  • Full life cycle development of DO-178 DAL A certified software.
