Software Engineer - API
About The Position
Headquartered in Toronto, CMiC is a software company focused on the Construction industry. We have built a comprehensive platform for construction companies to manage their most important workflows. Our customers have their choice of a SaaS or Private Hosted platform that includes industry focused modules to manage everything from Financials and Payroll to Project Management and Budgeting. Our market share is very strong in North America and rapidly expanding internationally in regions like Europe, South East Asia and the Middle East. The main responsibility of this role is to contribute to the development of RESTful APIs to support our front-end applications. You will modify existing APIs and create new APIs using both Oracle ADF BC REST as well as Jersey frameworks. Development at the database level is also required for this role to support the APIs.
Requirements
- Minimum 3+ years of work experience using any object-oriented programming languages (preferably Java).
- Understanding of Object-Oriented Programming Concepts and design patterns.
- Understanding of REST over HTTP.
- Understanding of J2EE and experience programming in Java.
- Understanding of RDBS concepts and experience with SQL/PLSQL
- Honed interpersonal and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, reliable and secure code.
- Improve tools and processes related to API development.
- Create documentation for the APIs, tools and processes that you work on.
- Review code written by others.
- Analyze problems and identify solutions.
