About The Position

Campus is seeking a product-minded Software Engineer to focus on AI tooling. This role involves building AI-native operational products used daily by various teams within Campus. The engineer will collaborate with experienced professionals to develop tools leveraging modern LLM workflows, conversational interfaces, workflow automation, and operational intelligence. This position is distinct from maintaining legacy systems; it focuses on rapidly building and productionizing specialized AI-native operational tools for internal teams. The role offers significant ownership, mentorship, and growth opportunities in a fast-paced environment where AI is transforming software and operational workflows.

Requirements

  • Excitement about modern AI tooling and advanced usage of AI coding tools.
  • 1-3 years of software engineering experience.
  • Experience building and shipping production software.
  • Highly product-minded with a focus on solving real operational problems.
  • Ability to move quickly and comfort working in ambiguous environments.
  • Commitment to shipping useful software and iterating based on feedback.
  • Enjoyment of close collaboration with users to deeply understand their workflows.
  • Curiosity about how AI impacts software development.
  • Enthusiasm for ownership, autonomy, and fast iteration cycles.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring new H-1B sponsorship.
  • H-1B transfers and TN visas for eligible Canadian and Mexican citizens are supported.

Responsibilities

  • Build AI-powered internal tools for admissions, course design, and student success.
  • Develop conversational workflows, copilots, dashboards, and operational automation systems.
  • Collaborate directly with internal teams to understand workflows and implement rapid improvements.
  • Prototype new ideas quickly using modern AI tooling and coding agents.
  • Experiment with new workflows, interfaces, and operational tooling patterns.
  • Contribute across the full stack, including frontend, backend, AI workflows, and infrastructure.
  • Learn to productionize AI systems in a fast-moving environment.
  • Help define software development practices in an AI-first organization.
