Requirements

  • Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field plus two years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
  • Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field plus five years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
  • Experience designing and developing large-scale software applications using Object-Oriented Design and Java (2 years)
  • Front end application building skills with JavaScript and NodeJS (1 year)
  • Application deployment and orchestration with Kubernetes (1 year)
  • Golang experience for controller development (1 year)
  • Python scripting language experience for life cycle management for the containers (1 year)
  • Spring and Spring Boot framework experience to build restful APIs (1 year)
  • Continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) experience for automated pipelines (1 year)
  • Experience with distributed messaging system like Kafka (1 year)
  • Experience with Docker Images for containers PDLC (1 year)

Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, and maintain features within the Container Product Development Life Cycle (PDLC).
  • Leverage advanced technologies such as Kubernetes, Java, Go, and Spring Boot to optimize and streamline the development, testing, deployment, and maintenance processes for internal developers.
  • Ensure that eBay’s platform remains efficient and user-friendly by addressing potential issues proactively and maintaining high-performance standards.
  • Build and maintain the managed framework at eBay, encompassing a comprehensive suite of libraries essential for monitoring, logging, authentication, authorization, streaming, and data messaging.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), application development teams, and cloud console teams to ensure seamless integration and robust functionality of Container PDLC products.
  • Ensure that all systems are interoperable and meet the highest standards of reliability and efficiency.
  • Support internal developers by addressing their queries promptly via a dedicated support channel.
  • Provide critical debugging assistance to resolve issues swiftly and ensures smooth operational workflows for the development team.
  • Maintain high levels of developer satisfaction and productivity by creating an environment where developers can focus on innovation without being hindered by technical obstacles.
  • Develop container images to host eBay applications within Kubernetes.
  • Create Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) solutions for eBay’s Java applications, including RESTful services, Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), web applications, messaging systems, and batch processing.
  • Implement automation solutions for the release of the Java framework.
  • Contribute to the development of the Java framework.
  • Develop and implement RESTful APIs.
