About The Position

eBay, Inc. seeks Software Engineer - 3 in Bellevue, WA. This role involves designing and developing eBay’s global affiliate system to connect external partners for effective promotion of eBay items. The engineer will architect and maintain the affiliate payment system, ensuring accurate calculation and processing of partner payouts based on diverse business metrics. Responsibilities include building and enhancing large-scale, event-driven data processing and enrichment systems, ensuring reliable integration and synchronization of partner and transaction data across multiple platforms, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements, drive system architecture decisions, and implement scalable solutions that meet compliance, auditing, and data governance standards. Partial telecommuting is permitted from within a commutable distance.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field, plus one (1) year of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation.
  • Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field plus five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in a related occupation.
  • Large-scale distributed data processing with Apache Flink, Apache Kafka, and internal stream-processing platform Rheos.
  • Workflow orchestration using Apache Airflow and internal Data Lake Studio (DLS).
  • RESTful API design and implementation for enterprise systems.
  • Relational and non-relational databases, including Oracle and NuDocument.
  • Distributed big data systems, including Apache Hive, Hadoop, and Spark.
  • Cloud-native application deployment using Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Third-party vendor system integration with internal platforms and CRM systems.
  • Ads/Affiliate traffic events enrichment & reconciliation system development.
  • Implementing data quality, privacy compliance, and auditing solutions for large-scale ETL and data governance systems.
  • Java and Python programming for backend systems and data pipelines.

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements, drive system architecture decisions, and implement scalable solutions that meet compliance, auditing, and data governance standards.
